What
You Can Do to Help
1. Download
the EOG vocabulary list
These lists contain many terms your student will need to
know for the Math EOG test. Not all words are
contained, but it will get you started!
-----------
English
/ Spanish Vocabulary List (Math) (PDF
Format)
2.
Check the Links below for Sample Quiz Questions:
Below you will find actual 'testlets' used
in the past on NC End of Grade Tests. Click in the
appropriate page to find questions and answers.
3. Read
the articles at Department of Public Instruction for your specific
grade.
Articles show what your student will be tested on, and how much of the
test is
devoted to a particular area.

4. Take Practice Math and Reading Quizes (Both you and your child!!)
It is good to experience what your child will go through. While NC's
EOG tests
are not computer-based, the following sample tests from Texas, Illinois,
and others
will allow you and your child to take tests and have them scored right away.
**Keep
in mind, these tests may contain questions/problems not covered in
North Carolina
in a particular year. They will
provide you with a good understanding
of the majority of what your child will be tested on.

3. Go
Over Some of the Test Taking Strategies (new,
April 2006)
Don't
stress the tests too much, but research shows that a child that
even practices once or twice will do much better than if he/she
never
saw a sample. Knowing how to bubble, pace yourself, etc. is half
the battle!
