| Our basic math program is Math Trailblazers. This is a research-based
math program that was adopted by the county for all K-5 schools in the
2004-2005 school year. The program integrates math, science, and language
arts. This program prepares students to be problem solvers, independent
thinkers, and to apply basic math skills. |

| Our first grade math curriculum is based on these four strains: |
- Developing number sense for whole numbers through 99.
- Measuring, estimating, comparing, and identifying attributes related
to these different shapes.
- Developing a concept of time related to a calendar and the clock.
- Identifying and comparing plane and 3-deminisional shapes.
- Collect, organize and display data on line plots and graphs.

| We are also responsible for administering four state adopted math assessments
that are based on the above objectives. These and other assessments are
used throughout the year to assess our students on the mastery of these
objectives. |
