What
is a Webspinner? Well, a webspinner is anyone who spins a web.
Some famous webspinners include SpiderMan, Charlotte (Charlotte's Web), Aragog
(Harry Potter),
and now our very own Wendell GT Students.
Beginning in the Winter of 2003, students began taking a magnet elective
class, Creative Webmasters,
where they learn proper web page
design, HTML tagging, and issues regarding accessibility
so all people can
view their sites.
Check back here often to see updates of their work. Each quarter, a new class
will begin a new project.
We use Macromedia's
Suite of Software, including Dreamweaver MX,
Fireworks MX, and
Flash MX to construct our webpages.

Below you
will find pages created with Dreamweaver MX and Fireworks MX by
the Advanced Webspinner Elective. These students already took Creative
Webspinners in a previous semester, now they were pre-registered
for this advanced class. Within this class, students will refine
their web skills, focusing on formatting their pages using tables,
manipulating images, and will receive a basic workshop using Flash
MX, a web page animation program.

Accessibility
Websites
Below you will find websites dealing with
making websites accessible for all users, regardless
of their particular handicap. We will discuss these sites
in our Advanced Webspinner class.

your page as a text-only page to

School
Field Trip: Click
here to see it!
We
proudly share our main project, a virtual field trip
through our school. The fourth and fifth grade magnet class,
Creative Webmasters, worked hard to develop their template
that all used (you will notice the consistency across the pages.
Other important concepts we worked on:
- Hyperlinking
- Template
building
- Image
manipulation
- Accessibility
(ALT tags, color choice, table use, etc)
- Using
tables as means of organization
Please
understand the planning and work we put into developing
these pages. We really thought hard about the design of
these pages, as we wanted to make sure that we kept them
consistent, accessible, and meaningful. We think you will be
pleased! Enjoy!
